+ Christian Education
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
The Christian Education Department is responsible for creating and/or enforcing designated curriculums based on the word of God. The Pleasant Grove Baptist Church offers Bible Study Classes, Traditional Sunday School Classes, Youth Enrichment Classes and various Classes designed to help you utilize the Word of God in your Everyday life!
+ Deacon Ministry
The Ministry of Deacons is modeled after that what is set forth by God’s Holy Word Acts 6:1-7 and 1 Timothy 3:7-13 concerning spiritual leadership. Deacons are responsible for advancing the spiritual and temporal interests of the Church and assisting the Senior Pastor. In addition, it is the duty of Ordained Deacons to prepare and distribute the elements of the Lord’s Supper, to educate, and engage in all benevolent purposes including visiting the sick and shut-in, and to make inquiry concerning members who have been absent from the Church for an extended period of time, and to assist the Senior Pastor in properly maintaining order and discipline in the Church.
+ Deaconess Ministry
The mission of the Deaconess Ministry is to meet the needs of the Church, under the spiritual guidance of the Senior Pastor and the Deacons by promoting the spiritual growth in the church. The purpose of the Deaconess Ministry is to care for and assist the needs of the overall congregation. Wherever there are sick and shut-in members as well as members in need of prayer, the Deaconess Ministry will be there to help. They will be in contact with all sick members and monitor the prayer list to ensure that members are not alone.
+ Executive Board
The responsibilities of the Official Executive Ministry of PGBC is to review major issues that the church faces and makes preliminary decisions for discussion as well as voting at board meetings. The Official Executive Ministry is responsible for representing the church on all matters: financial, physical and fiscal.
+ Food and Clothing Outreach
Matthew 25:35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.
The Food and Clothing Outreach Ministries are designed to help those in need. The Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in conjunction with the Community Food Bank of New Jersey works hand in hand to distribute healthy grocery items and hot meals to the community on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month. The food pantry is open from 10am-2pm and the community feeding is available from 2pm-5pm. If you would like to donate to our Food or Clothing Ministry, please email us
+ Golden Age Ministry
For our beloved members 65+, our Golden Age Ministry strives to create an age appropriate atmosphere for Fun and Fellowship! With occasional trips and monthly meet ups, our Golden Age members come together for laughs, memories, light activity and moral support for one another.
+ Hospitality Ministry
Our Hospitality Ministry consists of Ushers, Nurses, and Greeters. The hospitality ministry devotes their time to provide a warm and welcoming environment of love, acceptance, comfort, support, and care, for visitors, members, guests, and friends. + Ministerial Staff
The ministerial staff works in harmony with the Senior Pastor in carrying out the ministry of the Church which may include preaching, teaching the word of God, shepherding and counseling the flock, officiating the Lord’s Supper, baptisms, marriages, funerals, visiting the sick and shut-in, giving words of comfort to the bereaved families as they visit, and various other duties that the Senior Pastor should ask them to fulfill.
+ Missionary Ministry
Our Missionaries look after our bereaved, sick and shut-in members who are unable to physically attend church. These can be members who are ill at home or hospital, or those who permanently reside in nursing homes. Our missionaries provide love and support through visitation, prayer, and encouragement.
+ Men’s Ministry
The goal of our Men’s ministry is to continually provide support to the everyday man in their walk with God. Our men come together through workshops, discussions, gatherings, and fellowship for encouragement, support and guidance. These moments are created to strengthen and develop manhood from a biblical standpoint. All of our Men’s gatherings are open to ALL men! Check our Events page for the next meet up!
+ Pastor's Aide
Hebrews 13:17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.
The Pastor’s Aide Ministry assists the Pastor by serving as caretakers of the Pastor and his family. The committee provides the assistance needed to the pastor and his family with various needs, in a moral, spiritual, and financial sense. They keep track of the pastor's birthday, and his immediate family's birthdays as well as special anniversaries. The Pastors Aide committee also plans activities and/or parties for these events.
Praise and Worship
Psalm 150:6 Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
The Praise & Worship team exists to lead the congregation into the presence of the Lord. The praise and Worship team may minister in song and/or dance to facilitate and create an atmosphere where the presence of the Lord can dwell.
+ Trustee Board/Ministry
2 Chronicles 31:21 And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.
The Ministry of Trustees directs and oversees all financial matters of the Church and promotes financial stewardship within the Church membership. The Trustees are responsible for keeping organized records of the fiscal and financial matters of the church. They are also responsible for receiving, counting and depositing all funds.
+ Women’s Ministry
The purpose of the Women’s Ministry is to inspire, support and encourage women to live a thriving and Godly lifestyle in today's society. Our fellowship events foster growth, development, and empowerment for women from all walks of life! Join us at any of our Women-centered events by visiting our events page for the next meet up. + Youth Ministry
Our youth department offers age-specific groups for Christ centered learning and development. We offer youth church on 2nd and 4th Sundays, as well as activities, trips and so much more to disciple our youth!
On the 3rd Saturday of each month, the youth gather for Powerhouse from 10am-2p. We empower our youth through workshops, arts & crafts, games, fun and fellowship for youth ages 3-17. Transportation is available!
